December 2011: Two gardens designed by Green Gecko Studios for the City of Holdfast Bay have won medals in the government category of the SA Sustainable Landscape Native Garden Awards 2011. The Civic Centre garden won gold and the Kingston Park Yurlo Wirra Garden (formerly the Carter House Native Garden) won a silver medal for the second year in a row. The judges' comments will be available at Sustainable Landscapes Native Garden Awards 2011.

October 2010: The Kingston Park 'Yurlo Wirra' Coastal Garden (formerly the Carter House Block) has been selected as one of the gardens on the Sustainable Landscapes Native Garden Trail.
May 2010: The City of Holdfast Bay Council has agreed to rename the Carter House Native Garden to the Kingston Park 'Yurlo Wirra' Coastal Garden. The European name is used with a Kaurna name:'Yurlo' means cliff and 'Wirra' means forest.
February 2010: The Carter House Native Garden wins silver medal in the Sustainable Landscapes Native Garden Awards 2010 .
Monina Gilbey is an Adelaide garden designer who established Green Gecko Studios to provide an environmentally-friendly garden design service. Monina is passionate about plants and creating a garden for your family which suits your needs and your lifestyle.
Monina is a garden specialist with Woodend Primary School, a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden school. As Monina has experience with planning a kitchen garden, she can help you plan and maintain your own garden.
Monina also has experience with native and indigenous plants and can help you grow your own waterwise garden.
Costs depend on the type of service you choose for your garden. You can choose from a one-off consultation, a garden refresh, or a complete redesign.
Garden consultations start from $180 per hour. As a guide, costs for a scaled, labelled plan start at $1000.
Projects have included the City of Holdfast Bay Civic Centre, tne Kingston Park Yurlo Wirra Coastal Garden and a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden for Woodend Primary School.
The Kingston Park Yurlo Wirra Garden won a silver medal in the public gardens category of the 2010 Sustainable Landscape Awards. The garden has also been added to the Sustainable Landscapes Native Garden Trail .
