

About
Monina is the Principal and owner of Green Gecko Studios. She is deeply passionate about indigenous local flora and fauna and enhancing the contribution of large green spaces, like golf courses, to urban biodiversity.

Monina has worked as an educator with schools and the Adelaide Botanic Garden and in all levels of government. She is the former Biodiversity Manager at Glenelg Golf Club, where she was instrumental in raising the club's national environmental profile and helping them become finalists in the 2022 National Banksia Sustainability and Environment Awards.
​
As a well-known industry environmental expert, she writes articles and delivers presentations at local, national and international conferences. Her work has earned significant recognition, including co-winner of the prestigious Claude Crockford Environment and Sustainability Award in 2022 and winner of the Parks and Leisure Australia National Environmental Stewardship Award in 2024. She is a Councillor on the Parks and Leisure SA/NT regional council.

Through Green Gecko Studios, Monina helps turf facilities become more biodiverse and environmentally and economically sustainable. She also shares her passion by running garden craft and education workshops for both kids and adults.
