About

 

Monina is the Principal and owner of Green Gecko Studios. Monina believes that every green space—no matter how large—has the potential to support indigenous flora and fauna and contribute to urban biodiversity.

 

As the founder of Green Gecko Studios, she brings years of experience educating children in schools and the Adelaide Botanic Garden, as well as working in various levels of government. Her depth of experience and knowledge helps clients bridge the gap between land management and conservation.

She is the former Biodiversity Manager at Glenelg Golf Club, where she was instrumental in raising the club's national environmental profile and helping them become finalists in the 2022 National Banksia Sustainability and Environment Awards.

​

As a well-known industry environmental expert, she has written articles and deliverered presentations at local, national and international conferences. Her work has earned significant recognition, including a piece on Gardening Australia, co-winning the prestigious Claude Crockford Environment and Sustainability Award in 2022 and winning of the Parks and Leisure Australia National  Environmental Stewardship Award in 2024. She is a Councillor on the Parks and Leisure SA/NT regional council.

 

Monina is dedicated to inspiring the next generation. She regularly hosts engaging garden craft and education workshops designed for both children and adults.
